The Township of Carling has been successful in the recruitment of a new CAO and Council is pleased to announce that Mr. Kevin McLlwain will be commencing his employment as CAO, Clerk and Treasurer with the Township on July 20th, 2015. Mr. McLlwain brings with him considerable municipal experience having held the positions of Director of Finance and CAO for the Municipality of Central Huron and as CAO for the Town of St. Mary’s.


Grant opportunities are available to residents in the Georgian Bay region, west of the HWY 400/69 corridor, for stewardship projects which improve water quality and environmental health. These grants are available through the Lake Simcoe Eastern Georgian Bay Community Stewardship Program delivered locally by the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve.

Grants, education and technical support are directed at projects that improve or conserve water quality and aquatic habitat, such as shoreline erosion control, replacing failed septic systems, and planting native species.
