1.         CALL TO ORDER

 

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

2.         COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT

Committee met to deal with three Minor Variance Applications.

4. DUNCAN ROSS.  NEXT STEPS FOR BUILDING PROJECT

 

Mr. Ross presented Council with the tender documents and answered questions of Council regarding the documents.

5.RSS (REALLY SIMPLE SYNDICATION) & USAGE REPORTS

Township Website

Joe Villeneuve presented Council with a usage report on the new Township website as well as a demonstration on how to use RSS that allows ratepayers the ability to get notification on changes made to items on the Township Website.

Council requested if a simple guide for setting up the Google webpage RSS notification tool could be provided for those ratepayers who are unable to set up the e-mail version.

  1. CANADORE COLLEGE

Town of Parry Sound Financial Request

Council discussed the matter and arrived at a financial contribution of $15,000 spread out over three years and requested staff to bring forward the item on the Council agenda later in the evening.

  1. REDAC DISCUSSION

Council discussed the issue whether Carling should become a member of REDAC and was informed that the cost for membership would be $10,000.00 to $15,000.00 per year and would start in 2012. Council instructed staff to inform REDAC that Carling would become a paying member in 2012. Council to determine a representative at a meeting in the fall, as well as identifying the business objectives it would like to see for Carling.

  1.  WEST PARRY SOUND HEALTH CENTRE

LAND ACQUISITION/DONATION

Council informed on the status of the transaction and awaiting response from the solicitors for the WPSHC.

 

  1.  BOATHOUSE SITES

 

Staff updated Council on status and actions being taken on the file.

10.       TOWNSHIP ACCESS POINTS

Dillon, Snug Harbour & Blind Bay

Council discussed how the Township could better manage and regulate the usage of the ramps, docks and car parking where available. A question was raised whether additional signage is needed to control usage of ramps and parking areas. A potential site for kayakers was discussed to help alleviate the congestion occurring at the sites. Subject to have further discussion in the fall.
