1.    CALL TO ORDER

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.

2.    UPDATE ON ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

Council was given an update on the costing for the administrative office.

3.    DUNCAN ROSS
       PUBLIC WORK FACILITY

Mr. Ross updated Council on the options for Phase II of the project which involves the renovation or construction of a new Public Works facility. Council discussed various issues with Mr. Ross regarding the next phase and specifically whether a new building would be more appropriate than a renovation. The change in costing verses his original estimates was explained.

The consensus of Council was to let the potential contractors determine which route would be the most cost effective for the Township through their submissions either supporting the renovation of the existing building or the construction of a new building.

Council had a further discussion with the CAO and requested he speak to the Architect that the tender documents allow for the inclusion of a pre-engineered steel building (Butler/Robertson style) building as well as the other options.

4.    BAYVIEW SUBDIVISION – ASSOCIATION DOCKS

The Chief Building Official spoke to Council regarding the issuing of dock permits on the townships shore road allowances. The CBO is to meet with the necessary Association members and bring back a proposal for Council’s consideration.

5.     PROPOSED ROAD NAMING - BETTS

Council informed of the request to have a private driveway named and it was the consensus of Council that this request be denied and that it should have the appropriate 9-1-1 signage off of Owens Cove Road. If the owner wished to install their own private sign Council had no objection.

6.    NEWSLETTER

A brief discussion took place and Council asked Councillor Konoval to meet with the CAO to draft a proposed newsletter for Councils consideration.

7.    FINANCIAL UPDATE – CHANGES TO LEVIES

Council directed the CAO to write to AMO and ask that the Association address the issue of escalating OPP costs and the apparent lack of AMO’s objection to these significant increases.

8.    REQUEST TO PURCHASE ROAD ALLOWANCE

Council reviewed the request by Nicholson and Van Kempen about the acquisition of part of a road allowance that abuts their lands. Council directed staff to inform the applicants that Council would only consider the sale if it included the whole of the road allowance that abuts the applicants land.
