Records Clerk

Salary Range - $39,675 to $46,311

 

The Township of Carling is a progressive, rural, single tier municipality located in Northern Ontario, on the shores of Georgian Bay. Located just north of the Town of Parry Sound, on Hwy 400, the Township of Carling is well known as cottage country for many and is only a 21/2 hour drive from the Greater Toronto Area.   The stunning views and tranquillity of Georgian Bay and numerous freshwater lakes are the background for unique and unparalleled recreational opportunities. Reporting to the Deputy Clerk, the Records Clerk is responsible for assisting the Clerk’s Department in fulfilling the statutory responsibilities pursuant to the Municpal Act, and Planning Act for the Township. The primary duties include policy research, records management, licensing, cemetery administration and assisting the Deputy Clerk with administrative tasks in support of quality customer service.

The preferred candidate will have a Post-Secondary education with discipline in Records Management, Public Administration, or Planning along with 1-3 years’ experience in municipal/public setting dealing with rate payers and stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills regarding personal computers, corporate records management and MS Office. The successful candidate will also have the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, be detail oriented and accurate with a valid class G license. Knowledge of the Municipal Act and other pertinent legislation is an asset.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Salary Range - $43,750 to $51,081

Reporting to the Deputy Treasurer, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing daily, monthly and yearly fundamental accounting, payroll and taxation functions and assist in the effective operation and delivery of services within the Finance Department with regards to financial records and financial systems.

The preferred candidate will have a Post-Secondary education with discipline in finance and accounting with at least 2 years of experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, be detail oriented and accurate with advanced proficiency in multiple computer software applications, including MS Office applications and advanced proficiency in Excel. The preferred candidate will also maintain a valid Class G Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

 **IMPORTANT UPDATE, UPDATED**

As luck would have it, Winter has decided to give us a blast of uncomfortably icy temperatures this Family Day weekend.

 Due to the risk of frostbite, the Carling Recreation Committee has decided to POSTPONE the Winter Carnival until SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2016.

Shooting events will take place at Raby Lake and all other events will happen at the Rec Hall.
